名人英語演講稿范文1

Music comes with us. Where there is life, there is music. Where there is music, there is hope. It lies in everyday life, in everyone's life, in everything we see, in everything we hear-- in the rhythm of the sea, in the whisper of a gentle wind, in the melody of a bird's singing, in the harmony of village chimes. You can hear music wherever you may go . A man who doesn't know music will lose half the world. A nation that pays little or no attention to music will be a sad nation. A world without music would be the one for the dead and devils.

So dear friends, let's open our arms to embrace music and enjoy it throughout our lives. Love music and love life. Thank you.

  Good morning everyone:

As we all know, happiness is something that every person is chasing. I always try my best to find out what is the true meaning of happiness. And I think I got it last week.

It was an ordinary Saturday morning. I felt a little tired because of the preparation for the mid-term exams. It was not long before my mother came in

with a large bunch of white roses picked from the seller’s gardon. During the next few minutes, we were both busy putting them into a big cley case. Looking at the flowers, I found the dark sitting room became bright, so did my mood, just like a person gets some fresh air when he feels dizzy. All the feeling of boredom flew away.

Then I remember a poem named “Life could be worse”, which said:” For the weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I have been capable of working hard. For my alarm that goes of in the early hours, because it means I am alive. And finally, for too much e-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me. “I learnt that happiness is not the diamond in a necklace, nor a dream far away, it’s just your attitude towards life.

If you realize it, a simple cup of cola with ice can bring you a cool summer, for happiness is so ordinary that it’s right in the palm of your hand.

There was a big river. In the big river there was a big fish. The big fish was very bad.

It wanted to eat a boy or a girl every year. So the people there had to send a boy or a girl to the big fish every year. If not, the big fish would drown them, the people couldn't do anything about it.

The time came to send Shally to the big fish. Little Shally sat in a small

boat in the middle of the river. She didn't want to die, and she was sobbing. The little fish saw Shally, they were very sorry for the little girl and they wanted to do something to help her, "Don't sob, Shally, let's think of an idea." The little fish found a knife and gave it to Shally, then, the big fish came to eat Shally. All the little fish nibbled(輕咬,啃) the big fish, and the big fish was hurt. Shally took out the knife and killed it.

The big fish died, Shally and the other girls and boys there were all saved.

I applaud Prime Minister Abe for expanding paid family leave here in Japan, an important step in addressing the modern challenges of working families and maintaining women’s attachment to the workforce.

This year, for the first time ever, the President’s Budget included a proposal to establish a nationwide paid family leave program. We know this will

take time, but we are deeply committed to working with members of Congress, on both sides of the aisle, to get it done and deliver more pro-family solutions to hardworking Americans.

Third, in this age of rapid technology, we must also confront the challenges of workforce development.

It is critical as we look toward the future, that we don’t allow women in the United States and around the world to be left behind by the 4th Industrial Revolution – a revolution that’s integrating robotics, computer programing, artificial intelligence, social media, and cutting-edge technologies into every aspect of our society.

As technology transforms every industry, we must work to ensure that women have access to the same education and industry opportunities as men.

Female and minority participation in STEM fields is moving in the wrong direction. Women today represent only 13 percent of engineers and 24 percent of Computer Science professionals, down from 35 percent in 1990. We must create equal participation in these traditionally male-dominated sectors of our economy, which are among the fastest-growing and most lucrative industries in the world. Over the coming decades, technologies such as automation and robotics will transform the way we work, and we want to make sure that women can lead in the economy of the future. Otherwise, not only will we fail in closing the persistent gender wage gap, we will risk reversing the hard-fought progress we have made in this fight.

Where There is Life, There is Music

What is music, no one can explain. Just imagine for a moment that you are sitting in a magnificent concert hall. The conductor waves his shiny baton with a graceful swing through the air. A beautiful melody floats slowly around you

You sit quietly with your eyes shut, your heart open. The delicate vibratos of the violins carry you to a mood of heavenly bliss. An airy solo of the flute draws you to the imagination, the notes flow like some jumping swallows dancing and singing calling for the coming of Spring.

I like music from my childhood. My father often says when I was a baby I would never go to sleep without soft, beautiful lullabies crooning around my ears . Now music is a part of my life. When I feel tired, disappointed or in low spirits, I usually turn to music. Music, nothing but only music can have so wonderful an effect on my heart, on my pond of feeling.

名人英語演講稿范文6

"We are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book whose pages are infinite---"

I do not know who wrote those words, but I have always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want to make it.We can take the mysterious, hazy future and carve out of it anything that we can imagine, just like a sculptor carves a statue from a shapeless stone.

We are all in the position of the farmer. If we plant a good seed,we reap a good harvest. If our seed is poor and full of weeds,we reap a useless crop.If we plant nothing at all,we harvest nothing at all.

I want the future to be better than the past.I don't want it contaminated by the mistakes and errors with which history is filled. We should all be concerned about the future because that is where we will spend the reminder of our lives.

The past is gone and static.Nothing we can do will change it.The future is

before us and dynamic.Everything we do will effect it.Each day will brings with it new frontiers,in our homes and in our businesses,if we will only recognize them.We are just at the beginning of the progress in every field of human endeavor.

Several months ago, the Trump Administration instructed the Department of Education to prioritize STEM education, especially computer science, in our schools. The guidance we offered directed that these programs be designed with gender and racial diversity in mind.

At the direction of the President, I have worked closely with leadership

across government Agencies to prioritize workforce development and proven on-the-job training programs like apprenticeships so that young women – and men – have more opportunities to earn while they learn, provide for their families, and master the skills that drive progress in the 21st century.

Finally, we must empower women who live in countries that prevent them from leading.

Across the world, there are still laws that stop women from fully participating in their nation’s economy.

In some countries, women are not allowed to own property, travel freely, or work outside of the home without the consent of their husbands.

Countries like the United States and Japan cannot be complacent. We must continue to champion reforms in our own countries while also empowering women in restricted economies.

“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.

When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.

Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me

into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.

Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. Once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. Your next difficult step may be the one to the top. Keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.

I have a few candles stored in a drawer in my dining room. They’re meant for romantic dinners and special occasions, but since the arrival of our three

children they have lain unnoticed among the napkins and other things. They are waiting to be taken out and lit to share their glow with anyone who will take the time to bask in their brilliance.

Are not our souls like those candles, patiently waiting for someone to come and let us be ourselves? We are all waiting for our own moments to shine; we each have a special light, unmatched by any other.

Candles are made up of wax and a wick; we have bodies, but our essence lies in our minds and souls. Candles are unique in their colors, shapes and designs. Our life histories and experiences are the backdrops of who we are, but our minds are like candle wicks, and make our passions flame. Unlike the candles in my drawer, who get used or not used depending on my whims, we control our own thoughts, and how brightly we will burn or dimly we will shine.

Is your soul candle dimmed by circumstance or lack of passion and direction? Is it hidden in a drawer of stress, worry or resentment? Make a choice to let yourself shine the way you were meant to shine.

A big snake passed by under a spider wet. And it wanted to eat the spider in the web. But because it was not high enough to reach the web, it had to give up.

When the spider saw the snake leaving, it came down from the web hanging with a thread. The snake thought this was an opportunity, and then waited with its head high in the car. Seeing that the snake came back, the spider came back to the web. After doing this for several times, the snake got very weary and lowered its head. The spider suddenly came at the snake when it was not prepared and bit its head firmly.

The wounded snake jumped wildly and fell on the grounds repeatedly, failing to kill the spider on its head. After the spider bit the snake dead, it begun to eat the snake's brains, and didn't leave until it was full.

we often hear people say, “never give up.” these can be encouraging words

and words of determination. a person who believes in them will keep trying to

reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. in my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. therefore, i believe that we should never give up.

one reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieve anything. it is not unusual for us to fail in our first attempt at something new, so we should not feel discouraged and should try again. besides, if we always give up when we fail, we will not be able to develop new skills and grow as people. another reason we should never give up is that we can learn from our mistakes only if we make a new effort. if we do not try again, the lesson we have learned is wasted. finally, we should never give up because as we work to reach our goals, we develop confidence, and this confidence can help us succeed

in other areas of our lives. if we never challenge ourselves, we will begin to doubt our abilities.

in short, it is important that we do not give up when working for our goals. whether we succeed in the end or not, we will learn something, and what

we learn will help us to become better, more confident people. furthermore, if

we give up, we have non chance of attaining our goals, but if we keep trying, there is always a chance that we will succeed one day.

Richard Wagner was an undersized little man, with a head too big for his body -- a sickly little man. His nerves were bad. And he had delusions of grandeur.

He was a monster of conceit. Never for one minute did helook at the world or at people, except in relation to himself. He was not only the most important person in the world, to himself; in his own eyes he was the only person who existed. He believed himself to be one of the greatest dramatists in the world, one of the greatest thinkers, and one of the greatest composers. To hearhim talk, he was Shakespeare, and Beethoven, and Plato , rolledinto one. And you would have had no difficulty in hearing himtalk. He was one of the most exhausting conversationalists thatever lived. An evening with him was an evening spent in listeningto amonologue. Sometimes he was brilliant; sometimes he wasmaddeningly tiresome. But whether he was being brilliant ordull, he had one sole topic of conversation:himself. What hethought and what he did.

He had a mania for being in the right. The slightest hint of disagreement, from anyone, on the most trivial point, was enough to set him off on a harangue

that might last for hours, inwhich he proved himself right in so many ways, and with suchexhausting volubility, that in the end his hearer, stunned anddeafened, would agree with him, for the sake of peace.

  good afternoon, everybody!

nothing is difficult if you put your heart on it. nothing is easy if you don’t try your best.

we often hear people say, “never give up.” this can be encouraging words

and words of determination. a person who believes in them will keep trying to

reach his goal no matter how many times he fails. in my opinion, the quality of determination to succeed is an important one to have. therefore, i believe that we should never give up.

probably the greatest example of persistence is abraham lincoln. born into poverty, lincoln was faced with defeat throughout his life. he lost eight elections, twice failed in business and suffered a nervous breakdown.

he could have quit many times - but he didn't and because he didn't quit, he became one of the greatest presidents in the history of our country. lincoln was a champion and he never gave up.

in short, it is important that we don’t give up when working for our goals. whether we succeed in the end or not, we will learn something, and what we learn will help us to become better, more confident people. furthermore, if we give up, we have no chance of attaining our goals, but if we keep trying, there is always a chance that we will succeed one day.thank you very much!

Most people would like to be popular with others, but not everyone can achieve this goal. What is the secret to popularity? In fact, it is very simple. The first step is to improve our appearance. We should always make sure that we stay in good shape and dress well. When we are healthy and well-groomed, we will not only look better but also feel better. In addition, we should smile and appear friendly. After all, our facial expression is an important part of our appearance. If we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks and impressed by our confidence.

Another important step is developing more consideration for others. We should always put others first and place their interests before our own. It"s also important to be good listeners; in this way people will feel comfortable

enough to confide in us. However, no matter what we do, we must not gossip. Above all, we must remember to be ourselves, not phonies. Only by being sincere and respectful of others can we earn their respect. If we can do all of the above, I am sure popularity will come our way.

Integrating and empowering women is not just good corporate policy, it’s

  good business.

Second, in addition to changing the corporate culture, we must advance public policies that address the composition of our modern workforce.

In the United States, while single women without children make 95 cents for each dollar earned by a man, married mothers earn only 81 cents. Too many women

in the United States are forced to leave the workforce following the birth of a child.

We must ensure that federal policies support working mothers and enable them to reach their full potential. This is how we will create an environment where closely bonded families can flourish and our economy can grow at unprecedented levels.

That is why in the United States, we are working to pass sweeping and long over-due tax reform that will afford families much needed relief. We are seeking to simplify the tax code, lower rates, expand the child tax credit, eliminate the marriage penalty, and put more money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans.

Our administration is working to address the high cost of childcare in the United States which currently outstrips housing expenses and state college tuition in much of the Country. It cannot be too expensive for the modern working family to have children.

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), there lived a beautiful, intelligent princess name Lechang in the State Chen. She and her husband Xu Deyan loved each other dearly. But before long their country was in

danger of being invaded by the troops of the Sui Dynasty. Princess Lechang and Xu Deyan had a premonition that their county would be occupied by the invaders

and they would have to leave the palace and go into exile. During the chaos they might lose touch with each other. They broke a bronze mirror, a symbol of the unity of husband and wife into two parts and each of them kept a half. They aGREed that each would take their half of the mirror to the fair during the Lantern Festival, which is on the 15th day of the first Lunar month, in the hope that would meet again. When they were united the two halves would join together. Soon their premonition came true. During the chaos of war, the princess lost touch with her husband was taken to a powerful minister Yang Su's house and was made his mistress.

At the Lantern Festival the next year, Xu Deyan took his half of the mirror to the fair. He hoped that he could meet his wife. It so happened that a servant was selling the other half of the bronze mirror. Xu Deyan recognized it immediately. He asked the servant about his wife. As he heard about her bitter experience, tears rolled down his cheeks. Xu Deyan wrote a poem on the half of the mirror kept by his wife: "You left me with your broken mirror Now the mirror is back but not you I can no longer see your reflection in the mirror Only the bright moon but not you" .

the servant brought back the inscribed half of the mirror to princess Lechang. For days, she could not help sobbing because she knew her husband was still alive and that he missed her but they could not meet forever.

the minister, Yang Su, found this out. He was also moved by their true love and realized it was impossible to get Lechang's love. So he sent for Xu Deyan and allowed the husband and wife to reunite.

From that story comes the idiom "A broken mirror joined together". It is used to suggest the happy reunion of a separated couple.
